Latvia: Russia to carry 1st fertilizer batch from Riga to Kenya

MOSCOW, Apr 24 (PRIME) -- The World Food Program has taken the first 200,000-tonne batch of Russian fertilizers from Riga to Kenya, Latvia's Foreign Ministry said on April 22.

"The World Food Program took a mineral fertilizer cargo from the Riga port to Kenya on April 21, 2023,” the ministry said.

“This was the first batch of about 200,000 tonnes of Russia-made mineral fertilizers owned by the companies under the E.U. sanctions and stored on the territory of Latvia."

The ministry said that several more batches under sanctions would be exported from Latvia soon.
